Cookies

Purpose

The primary objective of this policy is to provide general guidance on the issues of cookie use on the gopaxos website.

What are cookies and why do we use them?

Cookies are small text files that are stored by the browser on the computer, tablet, mobile phone and generally on the device with which someone browses the website www. gopaxos.com
Each cookie contains information such as the name of the website from which it came, its “lifetime” (i.e. how long it will remain on the device), and a value, which is usually a number. A cookie may remain on the device for up to one (1) year.
Cookies are unique to each web browser (e.g. Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, etc.) and contain anonymous information, which relates to the websites visited by the user and the devices used. They also allow websites to store the visitor’s preferences (e.g. login details -login, language, etc.).
The law states that we can store cookies on the user’s device if they are strictly necessary for the operation of the website. For all other types of cookies we need the user’s permission, in fact the user’s consent is necessary. The individual user – visitor – subscriber can change or remove their consent at any time via the Cookies Statement on our website. In paragraph 5 of article 4 of Law No. 3471/2006, as amended by Law No. 4070/2012, stipulates that the installation of “cookies” is only allowed if the subscriber or user has given his/her consent after being clearly and comprehensively informed.
This system is known as “opt-in”, as opposed to the “opt-out” system in force before the amendment of Directive 2002/58/EC, which allowed the installation of cookies without the consent of the subscriber or user, provided that the latter has been informed beforehand and has not objected to the processing.
Therefore, in accordance with the above, the provider of an internet service (e.g. an online shop) or a third party (e.g. an advertising network promoting its products through the website of an online shop) may only install a cookie if it has obtained the consent of the subscriber or user after having informed him/her appropriately in advance.
The use of cookies makes it easier for the Website to remember information about the user’s visit, collecting useful data about search preferences already made on previous visits to the Website. Thus, the search experience will be improved the next time the user visits the site again. In addition, cookies help control the performance and traffic of the Website, improving its presentation and content according to the preferences of its visitors.

    ◦ advertisements that do not respect the aesthetics and purpose of gopaxos
    ◦ any other type of advertising that does not fall into the above categories but which is not deemed by gopaxos to be suitable for display on its network.

  • – gopaxos distinguishes advertising from the content of the site and the rest of the network with distinctive markings. Gopaxos will not allow the posting of advertisements that are not marked accordingly.

  • – By clicking on the advertisement, the user can be redirected to the corresponding site or landing page of the advertiser, which has also been approved at the content level by gopaxos, if this has been agreed between the advertiser and gopaxos.

  • – It is the advertiser’s responsibility to comply with the laws and regulations governing advertising in the Greek state and the European Union and to include in his/her advertisement everything that the law defines as mandatory depending on the subject of the advertisement, such as titles, footnotes, etc.).
