Day 1 – Gaios
Gaios is the main harbour, so this is where you will arrive by boat from Igoumenitsa or Corfu. This is an ideal starting point to explore Gaios, the capital of Paxos.
Next, let yourself stroll around Gaios. You have many options here for shopping, browsing, or grabbing a bite.

On the first day, I would swim at ‘Kaki Lankada’ beach. It is close to Gaios, is easily accessible with no rocky paths or stairs necessary to get there, and if you’re by car you can park very close to the water. There is a beach bar that offers sun beds, shade, food and drinks. Admittedly a bit pricey, but you can also lay your towel on the other side of the beach for a more authentic experience. The pebble beach is lovely, the waters clear and the atmosphere is great.
For dinner, Paxos has a speciality in Italian food. Piatsa Masa, on the main square, has an amazing pasta dish with the catch of the day. Kiouzini, with authentic Italian cuisine, is tucked away a little from the main traffic. Celestino also offers great homemade Italian dishes.
Day 2 – Antipaxos
On the second day in Paxos, I would grab a chill breakfast at Cafe Italiano: scrambled eggs, toasted bread, and a cappuccino.
Then, take the sea taxi from the central harbour in Gaios to Antipaxos. Or, even better, rent a boat to explore on your own.

Tip: Rent the boat well in advance as they go quickly! #visitantipaxos
First stop: Vrika Beach, with the most beautiful crystal-clear waters I’ve ever seen. Second stop: Voutoumi, where, after a swim and some sunbathing on the sunbeds, climb the 200 stairs up to Bella Vista Restaurant and enjoy the ‘Fisherman’s Pasta’ while soaking in the best view in the Ionian Sea. Totally worth it!
At night, have a drink at Kalimera by Gaios main square, listen to upbeat European songs to get in the right mood, and enjoy a nice cocktail.
Day 3- Magazia
Take the road inland to reach Averto Restaurant for brunch. This is a chance to explore the middle of the island.
For a swim, settle down at Kipiadi Beach. It is easy to access and a perfect example of the island’s beauty. It’s a very typical Paxos beach with white pebbles, deep blue waters, and all shades of green as far as the eye can see. This is not an organised beach, so load up on snacks and drinks from the amazing Loukas Bakery, which has the best loaf of bread on the island!
Tonight, Bournaos Cafe is one of the most legendary places in Paxos. It’s old, traditional, and full of charm, located in the area of Magazia. Don’t miss the Greek national drink ‘tsipouro’ and all the ‘mezedes’ (tapas) to accompany it. I like baked talagani cheese, local pasta with meat, smoked steak, and of course, a Greek salad to refresh us.

Day 4– Loggos
Visit Athina’s Bakery at Gaios for a hearty breakfast and a coffee before you start your day.
Go to Mogonisi, an organised beach in a picturesque little harbour, with a restaurant nearby to supply you with anything you might need.
At night, head to Loggos, a nice, quiet, small village by the sea, with lovely restaurants and a promenade by the harbour. Eat dinner at Vasilis Restaurant, which offers traditional Greek cuisine. My favourites are the fish or seafood dishes, like clams and shrimp linguini.
For drinks, don’t miss Taxidi or Roxy Bar for a cocktail by the water. Relax, watch the stars, and enjoy the clear waters, illuminated by the yachts. The waters are so clear that you can even see the sea urchins!
Day 5- Lakka
The round of Paxos island by boat is a must-see! Don’t miss a dip in the Blue Caves—you can even take your snorkelling equipment with you. Be back by 4 PM to have time to get ready for the best sunset view of your life.
I would start my exploration from Lakka so that when I return, I can also visit this beautiful village and have dinner at Akis Bar or Paxoimadi. Eat lunch and leave early to make it on time for sunset at the must-see Erimitis Sunset Bar!

Five days are definitely not enough to experience the paradise on earth that is Paxos, but it’s a great start to get a taste and make you want to visit Paxos again!
